Description (Service)

The Recreation and Culture department offers subsidies to reduce financial barriers to participate in the Town’s recreation and culture programs, either directly or in partnership with other organizations 
 
Recreation Connection Subsidy

  • assistance is based on total net income of all family members and the number of people in the household 
  • once approved, each eligible family member will receive a credit of $400 which is valid for one year for Town of Oakville programs

Aquatic Leadership Assistance Program

  • supports youth ages 13+ working toward lifeguarding and aquatic leadership certifications

  • Appointments are not required
  • Applications that are emailed will not be accepted and any support documents submitted by email will be deleted

To apply: 

  1. Make sure your Recreation and Culture account profile is up to date or learn how to sign up for a Recreation and Culture account if you don’t already have one
  2. Visit Town Hall or any Town of Oakville community centre during customer service desk hours with both:
    1. Proof of residency
    2. Supporting documentation (refer to website for details)
  3. Applications are completed on site with staff assistance

The Town does not retain financial documents (hard copy or electronic).
