Suggested organizations to donate books in good condition to: 
 
Amity Goodwill

Oakville Goodwill Value Centre
Oakville Goodwill Donation Centre

  • hardcover and paperback novels in good condition

Textbooks for Change

  • accept university and college textbooks published in the last 15 years
  • to drop off at the Goodwill Value Centre on Speers Road in Oakville separate them from other donated items and deposit in box
  • drop box also located at Sheridan College Library
  • no magazines, National Geographic or encyclopedias

Animal Aid Foundation

  • accepts new and gently used books, CDs, DVDs, LPs, sheet music, rare books, comic books
  • call 289-814-3048 to get the Oakville address and arrange a time for the drop off

The Canadian School Book Exchange

  • if books are not sent to a school in Canada or elsewhere, CSBE will recycle the remaining books and donate the recycling proceeds to reputable charitable organizations
  • accepts textbooks, library books, encyclopedias and magazines  

IODE Opportunity Shop

  • will accept small quantities
  • no academic or technical books
  • call ahead to verify what they can accept 

Little Free Library

  • pickup is available throughout the Greater Toronto area including Halton Region and can be booked online
