Description (Service) Library services include: 
Items which may be borrowed include:  
Popular fiction and non-fiction books for adults, children and youth * multilingual books and movies * CDs * DVDs * books on CD * e-readers and iPads * electronic games * magazines * large print books * talking books for those with a visual, learning or physical disability that prevents them from reading conventional print * newspapers for use in-library 
Electronic resources include:  
* wide range of free electronic databases 
* free downloadable e-books, e-audiobooks, music and movies from library website 
* genealogy database for use in library  
Library catalogue available online, to search, place and cancel holds, renew borrowed items, and view personal accounts * books may be returned to book drops at any Burlington branch 24/7  
* Reference and Readers' Advisory service  
* Children's Services and Youth Services include story times, weekly and special programs  
* Programs for all ages 
* Free wireless Internet access  
* Free use of public computers with Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CD/DVD drives (no CD or DVD burner), USB ports 
* printouts and photocopies 20 cents (black and white) and 40 cents (colour) per page 
* free scanning 
* faxing (to Canada and US) at Central, New Appleby and Tansley Woods branches only ($1.25 per page) 
* All locations except Kilbride have computers with large screen monitors and ZoomText  
* All locations except Kilbride have an Optelec print magnifier 
* Central Branch has a Sara CE text reader, which reads printed text aloud

Community Information and Referral:  
Information Burlington service provides the public with free, confidential community information & referral to nonprofit and government health and social services and supports, education and training programs, arts, recreation and more * for more information, see here  
Visiting Library Services 
Volunteers deliver library materials to any Burlington resident who is unable to come to the library for three months or more, including to retirement residences and Long-Term Care * for more information, see here 
Burlington Local History Collection (located at Central Branch)  
Includes files on local pioneer families, historic homes and public buildings * Halton area census data since 1842 * local newspapers, indexes, directories and gazetteers * records of local government, churches, cemeteries, schools and societies * items in this collection not available for loan, but staff will retrieve items for the public to use in the library * for more information see here
