Description (Service) Overview of free ESL (English as a Second Language), LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) classes in Halton, and directs to other related listings in this directory 
Both provide free training in English as a Second Language, most classes combine LINC and ESL students (the difference is in who funds the program, for different categories of learners)):  
* LINC is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (for Convention Refugees and holders of a Permanent Resident Card)  
* ESL is funded by the Government of Ontario (for Canadian citizens, refugee claimants and live-in caregivers with a work permit)
