Weed gardens, tend plants, harvest weekly for food bank. This is a team effort with existing volunteers. Looking for people who can manage one day a week. 

By sharing ideas, resources, successes and by working together on school and community eco-projects, we can have a greater impact with a louder voice. After all, it is OUR collective future. 

Join us monthly as we learn about eco-issues and campaigns, plan educational / empowering eco-action activities for the community, discuss the latest eco-news, and connect with like-minded people. Everyone within the age range is welcome! 

We offer a mix of in-person events as well as the opportunity to volunteer online through our Social Media Subcommittee. 

Outdoor events occur on different days of the week and could be anything from hikes, litter clean-ups, plantings, invasive plant removals, event greening, and opportunities to connect and care for nature. Watch our Instagram for updates or contact us to join our Youth Network mailing list.

Drop in online meetings are once a month throughout the winter months IDecember to March), usually on a Monday @ 4:30 pm. Message us on Instagram or send an email for the meeting link.

The program is designed to help young adults who care about the fragile state of our planet build confidence and develop personal skills for success while strengthening their connection to nature. PowerSeekers prioritizes personal growth, environmental conservation, and social justice to create a more compassionate world. We focus on 4 key issues: (1) how we treat nature, (2) how we treat animals, (3) how we treat ourselves, and (4) how we treat each other. We create opportunities for our members to become active agents of positive social and environmental change in their communities turning their passion into action. Volunteer BETA Testers will be on the forefront of change blazing the trail to help bring this exciting new program to life in Canada.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Work through self-guided educational material each week over the course of 30 days.

• Provide a review of our materials each week by filling out a short feedback form.

• Attend weekly feedback meetings with our team to discuss your experience as a BETA tester. 

The Burlington Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Board of Directors is actively recruiting dynamic community members who are passionate about supporting the arts. Our team of dedicated volunteer Directors works together to support interesting, exciting orchestral and small ensemble performances that engage and inspire large and diverse audiences in the local area.

To complement the existing slate of Directors, the BSO is looking for individuals with experience in donor relations and fundraising. Previous governance experience is an asset.

The Board meets virtually on the third Wednesday of every month from 7-9 pm. Directors are encouraged to attend BSO concerts whenever possible.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our upcoming Kidney Walk on Sunday, September 24th 2023.  Volunteer postions will include the following - event day set up, registration, walk route support, hydration station, parking asssistant, event break down and clean up.

We love trying new (and old!) things. Let us know! Experience with persons with disabilities is an asset, but not required.

  • engaging with parliamentarians by writing or meeting with them (in person or virtually)
  • writing letters to the editor (LTE) or op-eds
  • organizing events

  • tabling at an event to talk about Results Canada
• keep a record of the actions you take on a monthly basis
