Bake Sale Coordinator will organize the donations the week before the event into bags/trays and complete pricing and signage. On September 7th will set up the bake sale table and stay for part of the fair. There will be other volunteers to do shifts from 11am to 5pm. This opportunity works well for a single volunteer or a family.
Weed gardens, tend plants, harvest weekly for food bank. This is a team effort with existing volunteers. Looking for people who can manage one day a week.
Meals of Hope has opportunities for volunteers to work as dishwashers on Saturdays. Using a commercial dishwasher, volunteers work in teams of two (2) on Saturdays from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
This is a physical role and volunteers need to be able to lift, stand, and move dishes through the process during each shift.
By sharing ideas, resources, successes and by working together on school and community eco-projects, we can have a greater impact with a louder voice. After all, it is OUR collective future.
Join us monthly as we learn about eco-issues and campaigns, plan educational / empowering eco-action activities for the community, discuss the latest eco-news, and connect with like-minded people. Everyone within the age range is welcome!
We offer a mix of in-person events as well as the opportunity to volunteer online through our Social Media Subcommittee.
Outdoor events occur on different days of the week and could be anything from hikes, litter clean-ups, plantings, invasive plant removals, event greening, and opportunities to connect and care for nature. Watch our Instagram for updates or contact us to join our Youth Network mailing list.
Drop in online meetings are once a month throughout the winter months IDecember to March), usually on a Monday @ 4:30 pm. Message us on Instagram or send an email for the meeting link.

The Volunteer Event Coordinator will assist with setting up for OFFA events, and hand out pamphlets and other information, and be able to assist with our Name That Movie Game. Some familiarity with laptops, social media and digital marketing would be useful. Previous event coordination experience required. These events could be evenings and weekends or weeknights.
Packing and sorting fresh food into crates that will be distributed to our community partners and neighbours in need. Some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) required; participating in a temperature controlled Pack Room. Closed-toe shoes required.

- Shopping for food for our programs.
- Online ordering of food for our programs.
- Preparing meals and snacks for students to eat; most programs do not involve cooking, but most have some cutting of fresh fruits and vegetables and minimal preparation of other food items.
- Setting up for food service which can include setting up chairs and tables, cleaning the eating and food preparation surfaces and putting out dishes and food.
- Preparing bins with food items to be served.
- Post-program cleanup; this can include doing dishes, putting food away, cleaning tables and putting away chairs.
- Monthly reporting and financial tracking; this involves working with school staff to obtain account balances and submitting totals to HFFT each month.
Community garden volunteers help with general maintenance of the garden (weeding the beds, spreading compost/woodchips) and with planting and harvesting vegetables and herbs to be donated to a food bank.
- To provide great customer service and be a customer ambassador.
- Welcome customers at the main entrance and thank them for supporting your charity and assist with doors
- Provide information on games, programs, and promotions, answer questions etc.
- Circulate in Cabinet Game area ‐ chat with customers when appropriate.
- If requested by the operator ‐ assist with promotions –‐ e.g., handing out ballots, prizes.
- Support approved charity awareness initiatives from your charity ‐ e.g., displays,
brochures, giveaways, or gifts. - May also assist with delivery of food and non‐alcoholic beverages return food trays to
kitchen area, assist with clean‐up (used bingo paper, etc.) – and assist with call-backs of
bingo winners (you will be shown how if this is required).
We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our upcoming Kidney Walk on Sunday, September 24th 2023. Volunteer postions will include the following - event day set up, registration, walk route support, hydration station, parking asssistant, event break down and clean up.
