Description (Service)

Programs

Halton Food

  • educates residents in Halton Region about sustainable food production and promotes access to local, healthy, culturally relevant food through sustainable community gardening, urban farming, and school gardens
  • education programs are delivered through the schools, summer camps, and library programs

Generation Green

  • program designed “by-youth, for-youth”, with youth stakeholders and youth mentors organizing an annual conference
  • teaches students how to measure, track, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and become climate leaders in our community
  • youth compete to design and implement projects that maximize climate action with measurable results
  • conference is an inclusive event open to all students, Grades 7-12, within the Halton District (HDSB) and Halton Catholic (HCDSB) School Boards.

  • Neighbours helping Neighbours
  • creates a resiliency hub network that engages diverse community stakeholders to increase their climate resiliency, build community capacity, and work together to support each other during extreme weather events
