Description (Service)

Volunteers participate and aid in cleaning, general stream rehabilitation and native tree and shrub plantings

  • cleanups remove debris and litter from the streams and creeks to reduce potential harmful material from entering the Great Lakes
  • works with the city, conservation authorities and local community groups to improve the streams by creating more natural structures to help with erosion control, high traffic areas, dangerous public areas and fish habitat
  • plants native species to create buffer zones to filter urban water runoff (after rainfall), provide shade for the streams, and create wildlife habitat and natural areas
