Description (Service) | A Hindu Temple built in a style similar to the temples of India * main deity of the Temple is Goddess Vaishnodevi, also called Maa or mother * services held mainly in Hindi and Punjabi * sometimes in Sanskrit and English * special ceremonies on Hindu religious festivals * provides religious, spiritual and social services to Hindu community * everyone is welcome * free Hindu vegetarian food is served every Tue and Sun evening * Priest services for individual religious or social ceremonies * yoga classes Groups: * Seniors from Oakville, Burlington and Mississauga meet in the Temple * youth groups * Temple operated classes for Hindi language learning, classical Indian music and classical Indian dances * age appropriate programs for children and youth Rental Facilities: * religious functions only * capacity of 300 people * can serve only Hindu vegetarian food (no fish, meat or eggs) * full kitchen facilities * 54" TV, DVD/VCR and closed circuit cameras available * no dancing or alcohol * parking available * must make a donation to rent |
