| Description (Service) |
A residence in a home-like setting for individuals with schizophrenia and other psychiatric problems or anyone who needs supervision with their medication * 2 level home, 10 bed capacity * 5 male and 5 female residents * room and board and personal needs allowance * male and female occupancy on a separate wing with its own male and female separate washroom
The home provides:
- 24-hour care by a Personal Support Worker (PSW) and supervision by a Registered Nurse (RN)
- full service for the residents including three meals and three snacks a day * special dietary meals available
- laundry is done once a week for each resident or when necessary
- linens are changed once a week or when necessary
- staff assists during medication time (weekly blister pack prepared by pharmacist and medications are kept in a locked cupboard)
- foot care and barber services available
- scheduled activities once a week
- scheduled shopping and outing trips
- arranged ride to appointments
- home fire and safety maintenance checks every day
- residents also participate in the Support Program & special needs program through the Canadian Mental Health Association, STRIDE, Summit Housing and Dr. Dougan Foundation
- accepts referrals from Summit Housing, Support Housing, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), hospitals and clinics
- free phone use and internet access on wi-fi * a laptop can be borrowed from the office for personal use
- volunteer opportunities available for interested applicants * apply online
