Description (Service) | COVID-19 Notice: In order to ensure a safe, healthy and secure environment for residents, the Chief Medical Officer of Health in Ontario has advised residential hospices to only allow essential visitors until further notice. Call ahead before visiting. A six bed cancer hospice which provides residential respite care, companionship and emotional support to people and their family/caregivers dealing with terminal cancer * also may accept individuals with non-cancer diagnoses on a case-by-case basis * care provided by trained staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week * trained volunteers provide support to residents and their families, as well as perform administrative and household tasks in the House * volunteer opportunities available Also provides one or two-week respite stay for caregivers who are providing care to a loved one who is terminally ill in their homes * accept unused medical supplies donations |
