Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission is unable to accept phone calls related to public complaints against the RCMP through its 1-800 number at this time. 
 
The most effective way to file a complaint is by using the Commission's online form or by filling out the PDF form and faxing it to the Commission. 
 
In instances where further discussion with an Intake Agent may be needed, a call-back request and supporting rationale can be made through the complaint form. 
 
Please note that there may be a delay in processing your complaint due to ongoing constraints associated to COVID-19.

An independent agency who ensures that public complaints made about the conduct of RCMP members are examined fairly and impartially 
* receives complaints from the public and conducts reviews when complainants are not satisfied with the RCMP’s handling of their complaints 
* the Commission is not part of the RCMP

Eligibility Complaints must be made within one year of the alleged conduct occurring 
 
A complaint must also meet the following criteria: 
* the person complained about must have been an RCMP member or other person appointed or employed under Part I of the RCMP Act at the time of the alleged misconduct (even if they are not any longer) 
* the complaint must be filed within one year of the alleged misconduct, unless an extension is granted by the Commission 
* the alleged misconduct must not relate to an RCMP Code of Conduct decision under Part IV of the RCMP Act
