| Description (Service) | The history of the older, agricultural communities of North Oakville is not very well acknowledged and with urban development on the formerly agricultural land north of Highway 5 (Dundas Street), the society believes now is an important time to capture and celebrate the history of the community and share it with new arrivals so the past will not be forgotten The Society has renovated the Palermo schoolhouse for community use and heritage education * annual Family Heritage Day * speaker series * archives * classroom visits * March Break program providing learning opportunity with a focus on local history * able to scan historical photos of Trafalgar * almost 1600 photos available online * has published several historical booklets * a registered charity Rental Facility: * year round * 1 room with capacity of 50 * small functions and meetings * tables and chairs * renter must provide own caterer * liquor permit required * parking * small kitchen * coffee equipment |
