Description (Service) | Offer a variety of part-time programs for adults who require upgrading in reading, writing, basic math and/or basic computer skills for the workplace * also offer an academic upgrading program in partnership with Sheridan College * adults wishing to pursue college entrance or an apprenticeship can earn Grade 12 equivalency in English, Math, and Science * GED (Secondary School Equivalency) test preparation is also available Adult Tutoring Program: * reading, writing and basic math up to Grade 9 level * essential skills for work and further training Computer Skills for Work: * a 6-8 week instructor-led class for individuals who want to upgrade their computer skills in order to improve employment and career training opportunities * access to online learning opportunities * introduction to Windows, MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), email and internet for the workplace Sheridan College Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) program: * in partnership with Sheridan College * Grade 12 College level OSSD equivalent courses in English, Math, Biology and Chemistry * prepare for college entrance and Mature Student Test * qualify for apprenticeship and prepare for apprenticeship testing GED Test Preparation: * upgrade Language Arts Reading, Writing and Math for the GED Test * online learning opportunities for Science and Social studies |
Hours | Georgetown office hours: * Mon by appointment only * Tue 9 am-4 pm * Wed 1 pm-4 pm and 6 pm-9 pm * Thu 9 am-4 pm * Fri closed Call for office hours in Acton and Milton * 1:1 tutoring is offered daytime and evening in all communities * Sheridan College ACE and GED program is offered Tue and Wed evenings in Georgetown and Milton * Computer Skills for Work is offered in Georgetown, Milton and Acton (day and evening classes available) |
