Description and Service Details
Description (Service) A citizen advisory committee that advises and assists the Region with respect to the management and conservation of Halton's natural environment.  
* committee’s work includes advising staff on the Region’s policies from a perspective of responsible environmental stewardship and forest management, as related to the Region’s Natural Heritage System 
 
* members have an interest in the environment and technical expertise in one or more related fields 
* issues are referred to NHAC through Planning staff
Hours Office Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm * committee meets second Wed of each month at 7 pm * open to the public

Eligibility Committee includes members of Regional Council, agency/sector representatives, and citizen volunteers with expertise in an environmental discipline
Application Volunteer opportunities are advertised in local newspapers when vacancies are available
