Description (Service) Promotes mutual respect, acceptance and harmony among members of the community by: 
* providing resources for public education, programs and activities 
* increasing communication by breaking down barriers and building bridges of understanding between ethnocultural groups, institutions and the community 
 
Activities include: 
* Youth Leadership Workshop program  
* steelpan music classes for all ages  
* seminars and workshops 
* social, cultural, educational and charitable activities for Black History Month 
* Roots of Freedom Festival celebrating Oakville's black history with tour of Underground Railway in October 
* Emancipation Day (in conjunction with the Oakville Museum) in August  
* parang music classes for all ages
