Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Eligibility screening, language skills assessment and referral to government-funded English and French language programs including Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC), LINC Home Study, English as a Second Language (ESL) and French as a Second Language (FSL) programs, Enhanced Language Training (ELT), Occupation-Specific Language Training (OSLT) and Specialized Language Training (SLT) 
* a Language Assessment Centre is located in Oakville and also provides language assessments at itinerant locations in Burlington and Milton  
* appointments will be made at the most accessible and convenient location for the client
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-4 pm * evening and Sat appointments available

Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and up 
Adults 18 years or older are eligible if they meet one of these criteria:  
Canadian citizens born outside of Canada * permanent resident * Convention refugees, protected persons or refugee claimants * workers admitted under the Live-In Caregiver program * applicants under other programs holding the initial letter of approval from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
Application Call ahead to certify eligibility and confirm documents (Permanent Resident (PR) card or Landing paper with passport) to access service 
Language assessments are by appointment only at the itinerant sites * walk in clients accepted at the Oakville site * call the Oakville CLARS Language Assessment Centre to book an appointment at any location
