Description and Service Details

Description (Service) Helps the visually impaired to be mobile by providing trained guide dogs
  • trains guide dogs
  • offers training to the blind in their use
(Assistance Dogs Division):
  • provides trained guide dogs to persons within the Ottawa area who have mobility issues (without being visually impaired)
  • provides referrals to other agencies regarding service animals for various disabilities
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5 pm

For Guide Dogs for the Blind: Canadian citizen (or resident), 16 years of age or older and registered legally blind

Assistance Dogs: Canadian citizen medically diagnosed with a mobility-related disability who must in some way be able to benefit from the use of an Assistance Dog
