|Description (Service)||In response to COVID-19, Halton Region has partnered with local child care operators to offer emergency licensed child care to health care and other frontline workers.
Emergency child care services will be funded by the Province of Ontario, and are available at no cost to eligible health care providers and essential workers who have no other child care alternative.
Halton Region Public Health is working closely with the Ministry of Education to open these child care centres as soon as possible and are taking additional measures to maintain a safe and healthy environment, including:
* daily screening of children and staff
* regular cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched objects and surfaces
* reduced group sizes
* limiting the number of people in each child care centre
Halton Region Public Health, its Medical Officer of Health, and Children's Services are working closely with the Ministry of Education and approved child care operators to ensure all appropriate preventative safety and health measures are in place for approved emergency child care settings.
|Hours||Child care options may accommodate 24/7 shift work for children of eligible workers for infants to children 12 years of age. Spaces are limited and families will receive service sequentially, in order of the applications received.|
